A new edition of data (2.0) from contact forms for ESS round 8 is now available for download in the ESS8 - 2016 Data download section. In this edition, data and documentation for Iceland has been added.

The Contact form data for ESS round 8 now includes 18 countries:  Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

The first edition of data from contact forms for ESS round 8 is now available for download in the ESS8 - 2016 Data download section.

Edition 1.0 includes data for Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

The first edition of test data (edition 1.0) from main questionnaire for ESS round 8 was released on November 7th, 2017. The data contains test variables from questions C32 (ADMQFI), C33 (TESTGC33) to C38 (TESTG38) and section I (ICADMI, TESTGI1 to TESTGI10). The data is available on the ESS8 - 2016 Data Download page.

The 18 countries included in ESS8 Edition 1.0 are: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Remaining ESS8 countries are scheduled for release in May 2018.

The first edition of data and documentation for ESS round 8 was released Tuesday 31st of October.

Edition 1.0 includes data from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

The release also includes data from the Interviewer's questionnaire, and Media Claims data for Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

ESS round 8 includes rotating modules on the topics: "Welfare attitudes" (also fielded in ESS round 4) and "Public attitudes to climate change".

The ESS Data and Documentation section has been updated with a cumulative data file for the first eight rounds of the ESS. The cumulative data are available from the ESS Cumulative Data Wizard, where users can customise their own subsets of data in different formats. The ESS Cumulative Data Wizard gives access to cumulative data from countries that have been included in the integrated ESS files in two or more rounds. All variables that have been asked in more than one round are included in the cumulative data file.
