The income variable F32 (HINCTNT) was posed as an open question and later recoded into the ESS standard categories.

ESS2 Regional documentation for Italy

Incorrect documentation for the variable REGIONIT for Italy has been presented in the "ESS2 - 2004 Documentation Report, ed. 3.1".

Incorrect documentation for the variable REGIONIT for Italy has been presented in the "ESS2 - 2004 Documentation Report, ed. 3.1". However, the correct codes are used in the data file, which is also identical to the ones used in ESS round 1. The following codes were wrong in the documentation report and the correct ones are; Piemonte=1, Valle d'Aosta=2, Lombardia=3, Trentino-Alto Adige=4, Friuli-Venezia Giulia=6, Liguria=7, Umbria=10, Marche=11, Campania=15, Puglia=16, Basilicata=17. The Documentation Report will be corrected in subsequent editions.

ESS2 Adjusted response rates

The ESS2-2004 Summary and deviations table has been updated with revised response rates for the following countries: Denmark, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Ukraine and United Kingdom. The revised rates are based on further analysis of the Contact Form data.
